Product Advantages Lithium and thionyl chloride are extremely aggressive substances. However, the batteries can be protected over long periods of time using special types of glass and metal that are highly resistant to both corrosion and chemicals. The glass-to-metal sealed feedthroughs ensure that the batteries are hermetically sealed and that power is conducted efficiently. Applications Lithium thionyl chloride batteries are used in a vast number of emergency and safety applications, alarm systems, real time clocks, meteorology, radio communications and global positioning systems (GPS).
