The Thermal Cutoff Product Division develops and produces thermal protection devices, widely known as NEC SCHOTT SEFUSE®, that meet a number of international industrial safety standards. These devices are designed to protect electrical equipment from catching fire by sensing overheating and cutting off the electrical circuit immediately.
NEC SCHOTT SEFUSE® is a highly reliable thermal protection device that provides long-standing excellent performance and is used in various appliances and components. A wide choice is provided in order to suit the application and meet various requirements of operational temperatures between 73°C to 240°C as well as of rated currents from 0.5A to 15A. Cadmium- and lead-free versions are also available. |

NEC SCHOTT manufactures three types of thermal cutoffs, namely: |
The SF type uses an organic thermo-sensitive material inside a metal case and is able to operate in electric circuits with large currents. [more] |
The SM type contains a fusible alloy inside an insulated case which interrupts the electrical circuit by melting when ambient temperatures reaches abnormal levels. [more] |
NEC SCHOTT SEFUSE® D6 type is a thermal cutoff device containing an electrical resistor. [more] |
