Product Description Like the other thermal cutoff types, this SH device is integrated into the current circuit of an electrical appliance. The purpose is to interrupt the flow when overheating leads to dangerous levels. This is achieved when the thermal element heats up in response to the rising temperature and melts when the ambient temperature reaches a critical point. In addition, the SH type also has an electrical resistor that, in case the load becomes unsustainable, will heat itself until the thermal element melts and interrupts the current. |

Product Advantages The SH type thermal cutoff offers the following advantages:
Applications The SH type is mainly used for battery packs that are embedded in notebook computers. Technology The technology behind the SH type is similar to that of the SM type, in which a fusible alloy acts as a thermal element and is coated with a special flux covered by a ceramic base and cap. It connects two leads inside the device and reacts to abnormal temperatures by melting. In addition, a third lead is connected through an internal resistor which will produce heat if the load becomes unsustainable. For further details about the Thermal Cutoff technology, please refer to our technology page. Features / Specifications All versions of the SH type have an operating temperature of 139ºC. The rated current is 12A for the D6X and the D6Y version and 15A for the D6WX version. |
